Learning Log Information for this Half Term

Spring 1

Please choose one activity from each of the English, Maths and Science rows to work on through the half term. When you have completed these to a high standard, you might wish to work on some of the other extra activities that have been suggested. Your Learning Log will be displayed in the classroom and should be completed by Friday 9th February.

 

English

Information

Research an Industry that interests you and make an information text/poster/presentation about it. It could be a British industry we are learning about.

 

Biography

Write a short biography about somebody interesting. It could be an inventor, an author or someone else you know lots about.

 

 

Letter

Write a formal letter for a specific purpose. This may be to an author you like, a business to let them know they gave good service or something else. Keep a copy of the letter.

Calculation

Choose a topic we are covering in class. Become an expert on the subject. Create a poster, a model or presentation to present to the class.

Design the underwater car, specifically labelling features that make it different from a normal road designed car.

Present data in an interesting way.

You could make a note of every time you use electricity in a day, how much was used or how many people use each type of appliance in an hour. You could even look at meter readings with an adult.

 

Extra

 

-Complete a piece of art representing the industrial revolution. Think about the colours and materials you could use.

-Can you make a model of something which links to the revolution?
